About the plant: Lemongrass produces one of the 10 largest selling essential oils in the world! The genus Cymbopogon comprises of 55 species of grass, two of which are referred to as lemongrass. It has been used in medicine in India for more than 2000 years. A native to Asia, this tall grass is now grown in Africa, the West Indies and tropical Asia. It has been used as a culinary herb, and traditionally used as a medicine for infectious diseases and fever. It is used by the cosmetic industry for soap and skin care products.
